Some of the films listed below earned more than ₹500 crore rupees ($65 million) at the box office, and the top three films have grossed close to ₹1000 crore rupees ($131 million) each.
Gross box office figures are not adjusted for inflation or ticket price increases. This list does not include films from other languages (such as Bollywood films) but does include foreign co-productions that were predominantly shot in Tamil and featured Tamil stars.
